Six years of research and development along with an investment of 200 million dollars by General Electric-Transportation produced a locomotive with the most advanced technologies, reliable performance, fuel efficiency, simplified controls and more. This massive 4400 horsepower, 12 cylinder GE "Evolution Series" locomotive weighs in at a commanding 415,000 pounds with a tractive effort of 166,000 pounds. 75 feet later, this BNSF "GEVO" will have passed our very talented photographer leaving quite an impression.
